Fishing Tournaments

 

We will be pleased to advise you on fishing tournaments and fishing competitions in the Bay of Plenty and to support your participation, but please contact us early to ensure availability on the required dates.

Ladies fishing tournament in Tauranga

For Game fishing we have the latest Penn International reels on Kilwell "live fibre" rods using competition compliant line. We use shimano and other good quality equipment for sportsfishing.

Fishing tournaments and competitions in the Bay of Plenty are scheduled as follows:

 

2012 Fishing Tournaments:
13 - 15 January  - National Glass/PENN Tuna *)
18 - 19 February - Bridgeman Concrete Ladies
21 - 24 March     - One Base

We love competition and want to make it easy for you to take part. Charter our boat Sunfish1 for a competition and you can claim a discount of $100 (incl. GST) for full day fishing trips, for each 24 hour fishing day, for extended fishing charters and for single 24 hour trips.

SPECIES:
Tuna (min wt 15kg), Marlin (min wt 90kg)
In the event of no tuna: Albacore tuna (min wt 7kg), Skipjack tuna (min wt 4kg)
WEIGH IN:Restricted to 1 tuna, per angler, per day
PRIZES:
5 heaviest tuna, heaviest marlin, team with most tagged and released marlin, heaviest fish caught by a junior angler, heaviest mahi mahi & shortbill spearfish (if caught), lucky draws and spot prizes at briefing and prize giving
