Terms and Conditions

Payment:


A deposit of 25% of the charter cost is required to secure the charter. The balance is to be paid in full not later than 7 calendar days prior to the start of the charter. Unless alternative arrangements have been agreed with Sunfish Charters Limited, failure to pay the balance of the charter on time will constitute a cancellation of the charter by the customer.

 

Method of Payment:


Telegraphic Bank Transfer or Direct Credit. (We will provide you with our bank account details on request.)
Customers with a New Zealand bank account may provide a cheque or bank draft made payable to Sunfish Charters Limited

 

Cancellation by the Customer:

  1. If cancellation is notified in writing more than 28 calendar days prior to the start of the charter, a full refund will be made - less NZ$45 administration fee.
  2. If cancellation is notified in writing 28 calendar days or less, prior to the start of the charter, the deposit will either be forfeit or credited towards a rescheduled booking during the current season (subject to availability). The balance of any charter costs paid at the time of cancellation will be refunded - less NZ$45 administration fee and less the cost of any provisioning made on behalf of the customer.

 

Cancellation by Sunfish Charters Limited:


If Sunfish Charters Limited or the captain has to cancel the charter for technical or climatic reasons or to eliminate or minimise the risk to the health and safety of the passengers and crew and/or to preserve the integrity of the vessel, an alternative booking or full refund will be offered at the customer's discretion. Cancellation for these reasons will be entirely at the discretion of Sunfish Charters Limited or the captain. The customer agrees to render Sunfish Charters Limited and it's authorised representatives free from any claims or liability for costs incurred that are directly or indirectly associated with such cancellations.

 

Liability:

Unlike a number of other charter companies, Sunfish Charters Limited do not charge for the use of expensive rods, reels and other equipment on board our vessel. Nevertheless, if loss or damage occurs to the vessel or equipment as a result of carelessness, abuse or unfair wear and tear by the Client or any of the Client’s guests, then the Client, in proceeding with a booking, acknowledges liability for the repair or replacement of the damages or losses so caused and to the extent deemed appropriate by Sunfish Charters Limited. Sunfish Charters Limited will remain responsible for damages or losses caused by fair wear and tear resulting from use and application of the equipment for the purposes intended.
